Other ways to apply

For the majority of our courses, we encourage you to contact us directly and apply in person. In-person applications give us the opportunity to talk to you about your goals for study and work, and make sure the course you've selected is going to set you up for success.

We'll walk you through the process

When you apply in-person, you'll meet with some of our specialised trainers and career advisors who will walk you through the application process, make sure you're happy with your decision and have all the information you need before you enrol in your chosen course.

Some of our courses are available for online applications.

Once you've selected a course you're happy with, look for the 'Apply now' or 'Enrol' buttons on the course page. If the course has an 'Enrol' button, you can enrol and pay online straight away. If a course has an 'Apply now' button, this usually means that we need more information from you before we can enrol you in the course. Once you've applied online, we'll contact you to assess your application and talk more about the course to make sure it's the right one for you.

When applying online, you'll need to log in or register as a new student.

If you're new to GOTAFE, click the 'New student register and apply' button. You'll be asked to provide some personal details, including your name, contact details, and citizenship status.

If you've studied with us before, you can log in with your GOTAFE Student ID and add a new application on the My Courses page.

Part of the application process, whether you reach it directly from our website or are sent a link from our Student Attraction Team, you will need to login or register as a new student.

For courses with immediate online enrolment, you will be taken through to a secure credit card payment, and we'll send you a confirmation email to let your know your payment was successful.

Once you've submitted your application, you'll receive a confirmation email with the details of the course you've registered for, as well as any information about next steps.

A selection of our courses are available for application through VTAC. Check the course page to find out if your course requires a VTAC application. To get a copy of the VTAC booklet or find out more about VTAC applications, visit the VTAC website.

Before you can apply to study an apprenticeship or traineeship with GOTAFE, you'll need to find an employer. Find out more about the apprentice and trainee application and registration process here.

Some of our courses will only run if we have the enough interested students. If you'd like to study a course that isn't showing any upcoming dates, you can submit an expression of interest using the 'Register your interest' button, and we'll contact you when the course becomes available for application or enrolment.

Recognition of prior learning (RPL)

Some courses allow you to gain credits for skills you've developed through work, volunteering, previous study, or life in general. Our Recognition of Prior Learning Assessors will work with you to assess how your skills can help you gain credits toward your study.
