Courses
Course in EAL (22637VIC)
The 22637VIC Course in EAL develops initial-level English speaking, listening, reading and writing, numeracy, and learning skills in highly familiar contexts prior to accessing further English language education and possible employment.
Course in Initial EAL (22636VIC)
The 22636VIC Course in Initial EAL supports pre-literate students to develop an identity as a learner and establish learning routines.
Certificate I in EAL (Access) (22638VIC)
The 22638VIC Certificate I in EAL (Access) develops basic English language speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills directly related to immediate personal, social, and settlement needs including numeracy skills and knowledge.
Certificate II in EAL (Access) (22639VIC)
The 22639VIC Certificate II in EAL (Access) develops simple English language speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills to develop relevant knowledge and skills for simple everyday communications, transactions, and community participation.
Certificate III in EAL (Access) (22640VIC)
The 22640VIC Certificate III in EAL (Access) consolidates the development of straightforward English language speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills so that learners can access a range of further study and vocational education options which may require some specialisation.
Short Courses
Adult Migrant Volunteer Tutor Scheme - AMEP Program (SCVTUTOR24)
The course supports members of the community with a passion for tutoring AMEP learners from cultural and linguistic backgrounds through the opportunity to practise English conversation and participate in the community with a tutor for 1 to 2 hours per week.
AMEP Volunteer Tutor Scheme
The VTS recruits, trains, and places volunteers to assist adults in the AMEP program from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds as they learn English, settle into the community, and gain an understanding of Australian society and culture.
Government-funded training programs
There are currently two government-funded programs that provide language, literacy and numeracy training for eligible job seekers: the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) and Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program.
